Sheila’s Ark is a Somerset based animal care service. We first opened for business as Sheila's Ark in 2006 and have over 20 years’ experience in animal care and welfare.
We offer doggy day care for dogs over six months in an experienced, caring home for your dog/s. All dogs have use of the host family’s house and garden, and will have an exercise plan personally tailored to their needs.
We also offer dog grooming in a fully equipped grooming salon. Experienced in dealing with difficult or nervous dogs.

All dogs should arrive by prior arrangement by 9.00 a.m. at the latest:
Day Rate - £25.00 per dog per day (strictly 9 to 5, i.e. after 5 departure attracts an overnight rate).
Overnight Rate - £30.00 per dog.
Rates apply to a full day or part thereof.
Clip and Bath: Small Breeds £45.00, Medium Breeds £50.00, Large Breeds £60.00.
Bath and dry only: Small Breeds £35.00, Medium Breeds £40.00, Large Breeds £50.00.
Nails trimmed: £20.00
Late arrivals or collections
Owners are politely requested to be prompt delivering or collecting their dogs so as not to interfere with other clients arrivals/departures. Late delivery or collection of any dog will incur an additional charge of £10.00 for every half hour or part thereof.
All breakages and damage will be charged for.
Juvenile bitches which unexpectedly come into season during their stay will incur an extra cleaning charge of £10.00 per day.
Puppies invariably necessitate extra cleaning. For this reason puppies of this age may incur an extra daily cleaning charge of £10.00 on such days as this may apply.
Dogs which persistently mark will incur an extra daily cleaning charge of £10.00 per day on such days as this may apply.
It is a Licensing condition that any dog or bitch boarding must be up to date with both worming, flea treatment and vaccinations including Kennel Cough.
Any dog or bitch found to be carrying fleas or worms will need to be treated immediately at the owner’s expense.
Any dog whose vaccinations including Kennel Cough are out of date cannot be accepted for boarding.
In the event of your pet requiring veterinary treatment during their stay, or in the event of a veterinary emergency the following charges will apply:
Mileage: 45p per mile plus
Time Allowed - depending on the length of time required for travelling to and from consultation and treatment by your vet or referral vet either:
During Working Hours - £10.00 per hour, Out of Hours - £20.00 per hour.
A deposit is required for all bookings of 25% in advance to secure the booking.
Balance of fees for dog walking payable in advance.
Balance of fees for dog boarding payable on arrival
Balance of fees for house sitting payable at start of house sit.
(i) 30 days or more prior to commencement of booking 100% of the deposit will be refunded.
(ii) 29-20 Days prior 50% of deposit will be refunded.
(iii) Less than 20 days prior, deposit retained.
